EVENT INFORMATION WHAT TO EXPECT The Riverwild 4x4 Trail is one of the leading off-road experiences in South Africa. The trail is driven by participants in their own vehicles under guidance of our experienced marshals. The trail has different sections with a variety of challenging natural obstacles, each with its own character and each offering varying degrees of difficulty, including river crossings, mud sections, steep ascents and descents and plenty of rocky areas, all under expert guidance. The bush camp is in a class of its own. Guests are accommodated in dome tents equipped with electric lights, comfortable beds and bedding. Tents are shaded by matumi, water-berry and river bushwillow trees. Clean bathrooms are creatively finished with stone washed walls and pine cone ceilings. There are sufficient well lit showers with an endless supply of hot water from the "donkey", are complemented by electric power points for added comfort. Access around the camp is facilitated by a combination of natural pathways, a log bridge spanning the river and wooden walkways, lit by the soft glow of paraffin lanterns and yellow lights at night, creating an enchanting mood. Delicious home cooked meals are served by friendly staff in the lapa or next to the river on cedarwood dining tables with natural bark underfoot. Cosy log fires ensure a relaxed atmosphere for evening braais and socialising.
