ELEVEN Sun City - Africa's Toughest Triathlon
Why have the organisers of ELEVEN Sun City tagged this race as Africa's Toughest Triathlon? Simple, it's a tough course! The swim takes place in the crystal clear water of the Water World Complex, but as soon as the athletes transition to their bikes, the course starts to exert its grip, as athletes have to run 500 metrec xs uphill to reach the mount line.

Two South Africans taken hostage by Somali Pirates!
The shocking news of two South African yacht crew members, Bruno Pelizzari and Debbie Calitz, who were captured 16 months ago by Somali pirates, at the entrance to the Mozambique/ Madagascar Channel, has made headlines after Diplomatic attempts by the South African Government, to secure their release, have been unsuccessful.

Family members of the hostages are now urgently appealing to all South African to help save their lives by helping them to raise US $4 million, which the pirates are demanding for their release. This staggering amount - especially in Rand terms - was dropped in March 2011, and then raised again after interference with negotiations.

WCAD Series 1 Franschhoek AR Feb 10
The first WCAD Series Adventure Race of 2012 took place on 4 February in the Franschhoek mountains. All 5 Races in the 2012 WCAD Series have 60 and 100km options. Participants were challenged to some of the toughest conditions yet experienced in any of the prior races to date.

This race started off with a monster trek through some of the most beautiful mountains imaginable but the scorching heat and unrelenting terrain took it out of most competitors, some even dropped out before the MTB leg but a few brave souls carried on into the night in a display of determination! WELL DONE!!!

Ford Kuga launch (Cape Town)
The Ford Kuga has been available in Europe since 2008, but Ford has decided it's time to introduce this Crossover to the local market. You only need to notice how many Hyundai iX35's and Kia Sportages roam our roads to see why they made the decision. Motorists are increasingly looking for something in between a normal sedan (so 90's) and a hard-core, environmentally (and wallet) unfriendly 4x4.

I recently attended the local launch of the Ford Kuga in Cape Town and was more than a little impressed. The Kuga's design clearly shows the family DNA, something Ford calls 'Kinetic Design' and it really is good to look at from all the angles. MX Nationals SUN CITY
This weekend saw the riders line up for the first of the moto cross national at suncity as the first of the WOMSA events of the year. With the biggest turn out in 30 years it was a great day out with very exciting racing.
