The Junior Men final in wakeskating saw a German one-two finish with Lukas Winkelmann (GER) taking first and Hanno Bimberg (GER) second. Third place went to Julius Lang (SVK). Isabella Tremmel (GER) won the Girls’ final in wakeboarding while Juliette Labelle (FRA) got second and Elena Boltaeva (RUS) third. The victory in the Boys’ final in wakeboarding went to Philipp Koch (GER). Liam Peacock (GBR) took silver, Scott Rosewell (GBR) bronze.

In Open Women’s and Men’s, all of the favourites have reached the semi-finals on Saturday morning. Qualified riders include males San Im (KOR), Lior Sofer (ISR), reigning European Champion Dominik Gührs (GER), Frédéric von Osten (GER), Sam de Haan (NED), and Daniel Fetz (AUT) as well as females Maxine Sapulette (NED), reigning European Champion Julia Rick (GER), Sanne Meijer (NED), and reigning World Champion Sophia Marie Reimers (GER).

“The competition is really tough,” says reigning World Champion Frédéric von Osten (GER). “All the best riders are here, and that doesn’t happen very often. But with this park, these features, this cable and these surroundings, everyone wanted to go. That makes it even harder to win, but I don’t care. I’m still here to win.”

The Open Men and Women semi-finals and finals on Saturday, August 16, will be broadcast live on the IWWF website. The wakeboard open semi-finals start at 9 am, followed by the wakeskate finals at 11 am. The day concludes with the wakeboard open finals at 1 pm and the award ceremony at 3 pm.

At the riders meeting at the beginning of the week, the riders reelectet Daniel Fetz as riders’ representative. He will represent the interests of the riders in the council. The other members of the council are elected by the federations.
