Everyone with or without an SUP board is invited to join the Starboard Stand Up Paddling Chase Race on Saturday, 16 August 2014 and take part in the amazing new facing format that puts everyone on to the same level; no matter what age, skill level, fitness level or board. This is your opportunity to shine!
Times:
Demos - 2:30 - 3:30 PM - Open Day Format: From 2:30 - 3:30 p.m. - Everyone who has ever wanted to try Stand Up Paddling is welcome to try Stand Up Paddling for FREE. Find out why Stand Up Paddling is the fastest growing sport in the world and get fit without trying hard. Just ask for Gunter on the day.
Team Relay Race - 3:30 - 4:00 p.m. All new comers as well as seasoned paddlers will be arranged into equally strong teams. Then we will hold a short 500 m Sprint Team Relay Race. This Race is aimed to get your heart racing and boost your cardio vascular maximum threshold.
Chase Race Start - 4:00 p.m. - The Chase Race will be a 3 lap (3.15 km) Course. You will receive a Time Advantage based on your previous results. The "Chase" Races is designed to allow everyone to compete on an equal level no matter what age, skill-level or equipment. The "Chase" Races will happen back-to-back, 3 weekends in a row at Emmerentia Dam on Saturday afternoons.
