“Tanzania,” a word I often roll around on my tongue with a satisfied grin. The epitome of African dreams, so perfect; no airbrushing, best angles or editing required.

Expansive grasslands fringed by acacia and studded by the odd termite mound, seemingly placed there purely to seat a cheetah on the hunt. Lakes heaving with aquatic life of such varied species you would be forgiven for thinking every other water source in Africa had dried up.

Baobab, tamarind and sycamore fig. Mongoose, elephant and straight-tailed pig. Flora and fauna so effortlessly in tune that waxing lyrical comes easy.

Undulating hills, crater walls, scrub, savannah, swamp, people of such immense intrigue, culture and vibrant colour.

And as I leave, I see Kilimanjaro standing proud, encircled by her thick white tutu of clouds, the custodian of majesty. This is a land that taught me my 'sole purpose' was in fact my 'soul purpose'.
