MERRELL Gravity Adventure Festival
This race adds an adventurous spin to the standard long distance Swimmers Mile. The swim has a festive start at the bridge where spectators are welcomed to watch from above! Swimmers dash through rapids, swim into the estuary, and down to the finish line at the festival hub. The TURBO Rocky River Mile Swim takes the format of a traditional mile long swim and puts it into a river environment, the first of its’ kind in South Africa. Swimmers negotiate some small rapids initially and then enter the Palmiet estuary for an open water swim to the finish at the Festival hub. It is a cold-water swim, so an outer layer is recommended (although we love the hard-core swimmers).
A kiddies swim will start as soon as the last swimmer is out the water. Encourage all ages to participate, awesome prizes up for grabs and we encourage you to join your child in the river dash – might include a little bit of running!
