Alex with Valentino Rossi and Marc Marquez in the FIM Ride Green campaign

The Grand Prix of Valencia was a great sport event on and off track. While on track Marc Marquez and Maverick Viñales claimed the World Title in the MotoGP and Moto3 classes respectively, the FIM gathered the Environmental Ambassadors to plan the 2014 Ride Green campaign in the field of sustainability and food waste reduction.

FIM chose the 2013 Italian Enduro World Champion, Alex Salvini as sixth Ambassador to promote sustainability in Enduro and Rallies. At Valencia Alex joined the team already composed of Valentino Rossi, Marc Marquez, Randy De Puniet, Laia Sanz and Takahisa Fujinami.

Gathered around a table the FIM President, Vito Ippolito, Kattia Hernandez, the Director of the FIM International Environment Commission and the six Ambassadors exchanged ideas about the programme that will enrich and empower them in the field of sustainability.

Alex Salvini: “It’s a great pleasure and an honour to have been chosen by the FIM to represent the off-road world to promote this important campaign. I was very positively surprised by the team spirit that characterized the meeting. Together, without distinction of categories and disciplines, we worked to give our contribution to the environmental campaign and to reduce the food waste. Our sport gives us every day great satisfactions and I think that we have the duty to share among the young people and the fans of our sport positive messages. I’m also testimonial of Riders4Riders, an Onlus that supports the research to cure the spinal cord diseases”.
