Gooderson Leisure’s Drakensberg Gardens Golf and Spa Resort will be hosting their annual charity Golf Tournament from December 13 –16, 2013.
A special golf package for three nights will cost R4155 per single golfer’s package and includes two rounds of golf, dinner, bed and breakfast, halfway house, entertainment, commemorative gift. Golfers sharing per person package is R3495. Partners and spouses pay R2975 and includes three nights on a dinner, bed and breakfast as well as access to the Wellness Centre during their stay. Children under 12 years cost R450 each.
The tournament will be an individual Stableford competition on the golf course which is poised on a scenic 860 hectare world heritage site, and is a one of a kind retreat for all visitors. The tournament will certainly impress the golfing enthusiast, where the 18 Hole Par 72 Golf Course plays 5559m (Club) and 5738m (Championship). The front 9 of the course offers 1x Par 3, 7x Par 4 and 1x Par 5 with a total distance of 2856m (Club) and 2927m (Championship). The back 9 of the course offers 3x Par3, 3x Par 4, and 3x Par 5 with a total distance of 2703m (Club) and 2811m (Championship).
The course is challenging but fair and is ideal for all golfers from seasoned professionals to the first time player.
This year’s annual charity golf tournament will benefit Kulungile, a non-profit organisation, which was started by Sister Abegail Ntleko who provides a loving and caring home for vulnerable and orphaned children in Underberg. She has quite the reputation and has achieved much in her life, from being a registered nurse, a lay Anglican minister, winner of the Shoprite Checkers Woman of the Year, winner of Unsung Hero Award from Wise Giving in San Francisco, founder of Clouds of Hope orphanage and author of a book Empty Hands which is currently being published.
