Cape Town (South Africa) – The second in a series of three events held during the course of November, young Cape Town motocross talent will be exposed to the life of a professional motocross athlete. The aptly named Red Bull My Track events will see three National Motocross Champions, Kerim Fitz-Gerald, Anthony Raynard and Bradley Cox, take the participants through their approach to attacking berms, table tops and the like at their favourite local track.

On 22 November Cape Town’s top ranking Pro Mini (Age 10-15) riders in the MSA 2014 season (around 6 athletes at each event) will have their chance to get hands-on advice from some of the country’s best at Red Bull My Track. The young guns will also receive media training on how to be in the public eye as well as some tips on how to keep the extensive whole-body fitness levels required of a motocross athlete.

The three events, in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Pietermaritzburg, are designed to ignite young motocross athletes’ passion for the sport and put them in good stead for the 2015 Motocross season.

Anthony Raynard’s local track, Zone 7 Motocross Track in Melkbosstrand, will play host to the Cape Town event. As the WOMZA National Title holder in the MX2 class in 2012 Championship, Anthony is eager to share his knowledge of the track with the youngsters as well as in the ins and outs of being a professional motocross athlete: “I like Zone 7 because of all the different terrain around the track. I think the sandy patches and hard pack suit my style of riding. “

“I’ve been riding since age of 10 - around the age of some of the boys who will take part next week. I’m excited to be sharing my knowledge with the boys as well how to approach the Zone 7 track in particular - the hard pack, technical ruts and scrubbing,” said Anthony. “The boys who came to the event last weekend got so much out of it and I’m the Cape Town boys will benefit just as much.”

With over 11 South African Professional National Motocross titles between the Anthony, Kerim and Brad, the boys invited to Red Bull My Track are bound to take a lot from the event to apply in the new season.
