Rand Show 2015 sees a host of top strength athletes compete in the Rand Show Strongest Man 2015 competition, a qualifying round for the title of SA's Strongest Man. On Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 April the Main Arena will reverberate to the sound of a titanic battle of strength as the competitors vie for top three honours to qualify for the finals of SA's Strongest Man in September 2015.

COME SEE THESE GIANTS IN ACTION
Crowd-favourite and current Champion Ettiene Smit, an eight-time winner of this strength event will be fending off a strong field of contenders. Amongst these 2012 and 2013 Champion, Tristen O'Brien; three-time Champion, Willie White; and current under 150kg defending champion Frikkie Page who is hoping to take on the big guys at the Rand Show. Other well-known strength athletes taking part include Kelin Mills, Andre Sweeney, Theron Kleinhans, Sholto Luiters and Jared Leask.

TOUGH TASKS AND EVEN TOUGHER TRUCKS
One of the most impressive challenges is the Truck Pull, a signature World's Strongest Man event. At the end of Saturday's competition the top contestants will be strapped into a harness connecting them to an 18-ton truck which they must pull for a distance of 20 metres with the fastest time determining the winner.

Sunday sees the leaders reeling the truck in, in an event known as the Hand-over-Hand Truck Pull. Still 18-tons of machinery but this time competitors need to use a rope to pull the truck towards them for 20 metres - again the fastest time wins!

A gruelling series of events precedes the truck pull including the Car Deadlift requiring competitors to lift the back of a 360-kg car as many times as possible in 60 seconds; the 380-kg Yoke Carry; Overhead Medley; Circle Walk; Carry and Load Medley; Axle and Log Lift for maximum weight; the Atlas Stones and many more popular strength-events.

Just watching this formidable yet entertaining challenge will surely be enough to pull a muscle.
