The Spur mountain bike Classic provides family outdoor event in the winelands.

The Spur Mountain Bike Classic is the oldest funride on the Western Cape MTB calendar and has always been a great family outdoor event. On Sunday, 27 September the event will start and finish at the Post House Vineyards between Stellenbosch & Somerset West, which is a gem just off Winery Road and gives access to the trails in the area. With three routes on offer: 15km, 30km & 45km plus kiddies rides of 500m, 1km & 3km, there is something for all ages & abilities! Riders can always look forward to beautiful riding and views. The farms are all nestled on the slopes of the Helderberg Mountain which is a bit higher than Table Mountain, The tallest part of the mountain is referred to as the Dome, as from a distance it resembles the dome of a church.

COST:
From R80 to R180 depending on distance and time of entry.

DISTANCES:
• 0.5km, 1.5km & 3km for small children (10 & under)
• 15km funride for children & novices.
• 30km funride for beginner/intermediate riders
• 45km challenge for intermediate, but fit riders

Title sponsor, Spur Steak Ranches will also have their jumping castles, entertainment and great food at the finish. Refreshment stations on the routes, medals to all finishers and Coke at the finish as well. Pre-entries save and also get goodys so enter early!

Don’t miss the lucky draw after the event, as all riders will stand a chance to win great prizes, including a mountain bike and accommodation, vouchers. The first 150 kids (10 & under events) will receive a medal & goody bags from Spur! Friends and family can socialize on the lawns of this fantastic Estate & massages available after completing the race. Also Dirtopia Fietswinkel will have basic mechanical service available at the finish! Spur burgers, pancakes, Cafe Pronto coffee, biltong & snacks will be for sale.
