Stars come out to play at the Vodacom Durban July

Durban – In amongst the capacity crowd expected at Greyville Racecourse for the 2015 Vodacom Durban July on Saturday 4 July will be the biggest gathering of celebrities and entertainers on the annual social calendar.

The event always attracts a stellar guest list of business leaders, senior politicians, beauty queens, sporting personalities, movie and television actors, musicians, fashion designers and socialites.

The glitzy Vodacom Paddock will host a gathering of captains of industry, political figures, sport stars and celebrities in lavish style in the main grandstand overlooking the finish straight.

Also enjoying the day as guests of the title sponsors will be fashion icons Terrence Bray, Colleen Eitzen, Sibu Msimang, Craig Jacobs, Brenda Quin, Dale McCarthy, Jane Wolff, Haroun Hansrot and Hangwani Nengovhela, the driving force behind the brand Rubicon, all fresh from their starring roles in the Vodacom Durban July Invited Designer Showcase.

Showbiz celebrity Jeannie D from the glam Top Travel and Top Billing will be filming in the Vodacom Paddock and will be joined on course by fellow television personalities Michaella Russell from the popular soapie Isidingo while Muvhango actor Lesley Musina has also confirmed his attendance at Africa’s Greatest Horseracing Event.

Other celebs to be on the lookout for include Pearl Thusi, presenter at Metro FM; the cast of Uzalo from SABC and TV personality and actress, Amanda du Pont, all who will be enjoying the perks and glamour of the Huawei and Vodacom Lifestyle Oasis Village.

The hospitality venues at the Vodacom Durban July are famed for delivering first-class performances by musical acts with this year boasting another chart-topping line-up.

Big names like the undisputed King and Queen of Kwaito, Mafikizolo; the widely popular musical group Uhuru and one’s of South Africa’s hottest rappers, Cassper Nyovest, will be lighting up the Jack Daniels BoomTown stage.

As one of the Vodacom Durban July's biggest and most popular marquees, the venue has a star studded line-up that also includes an anticipated performance from female hip hop star Patty Monroe, an addition that promises to bring some female flair to the largely male line-up.

Other musical artists set to be in attendance include Kwaito superstars Big Nuz, South African multi award winning DJ and record producer Black Coffee and the successful DJ Tira, who will all be performing at the Afrotainment Vodacom Durban July Marquee.

The Vodacom Durban July uniquely hosts cabinet ministers alongside industry leaders, fashion and entertainment icons, all drawn to the event by the field of top class thoroughbreds contesting the R3,5 million Vodacom Durban July that is set to take place shortly after 4pm on Saturday afternoon where another racing star will be born.
