Riebeek Valley Olive Festival When my father-in-law said he was taking us to the Riebeek Valley Olive Festival, which took place on the weekend of 5 and 6 May in the picturesque Riebeek Valley, Francois and I didn't really know what to expect, well except for olives... Not having ever heard of the festival before, I pictured a small town with one of those bazaar-type tents packed with lots of oom's and tannies selling olives out of tupperware containers.

MTN Series #5 Mabalingwe Set in the beautiful Mabalingwe Nature Reserve, the fifth leg of the MTN National MTB Series proved to be the toughest one in the series thus far. And it looks like the harder the Series gets, the more riders want to be a part of it! Even though the race was full on race day, there were still hundreds of people who arrived on the day to join in on the fun. Despite a few small hiccups regarding the actual distance completed, everyone left with big smiles. The team from DO IT NOW Magazine loved being a part of the action and will most definitely be at the 2013 event.

Jo'burg City Duathlon It was an early and slightly chilly start on the banks of the Germiston Lake for those taking part in the Jo'burg City Duathlon, which also incorporated the CGT & GNT Duathlon CHAMPS. With some of South Africa's best multi-sport athletes and juniors competing, the crowd was in for a real treat. Competitors gave it their all in the running and then upped the pace even more with some really fast and sometimes nail biting cycling at the speeds that just boggle the mind.
