All things good and natural

If you feel that winter has been tough so far, the next Little Black Boek gathering to be held on the 25th of July will revive your mind, body and soul. With spring a mere month away, we will be looking at fresh living the easy and natural way.

We kick off the morning with a talk by widely respected organic gardening fundi, Jane Griffiths. Besides spending a lot of time in her garden, Jane is also the author of Jane’s delicious garden and Jane’s delicious kitchen, of which a few copies will be handed out at the talk. Her presentation, titled “Growing an edible Eden”, will give ideas and tips on how we can live from our gardens the way it was meant to be.

We all have resolutions in spring to get our bodies in shape. This year you can do it the clever way with a diet that is designed according to your DNA, as there is no one-size-fits-all weight-loss program. Dr. Danny Meyersfeld , a scientist turned entrepreneur, started a biotechnology company called DNAlysis. It aims to, by understanding an individual’s genetic background, achieve optimal weight loss.

No Little Black Boek gathering is complete without a taste experience and some good bubbly, provided by Saronsberg Wines. Sonja de Beer, owner of Sonja’s Foods, is well known for her delicious food products and cooking classes. She will round off the winter’s morning with a demonstration and recipes for slow wholesome winter food.
