Girls… Kick off the high heels and get into some funky lycra on Sunday 8 November for a morning of fabulous fun! If you have been part of the ‘PPA BlueBoost Heels on Wheels funride’ before, you’ll know what a great morning out this is.
In 2015, the event will again start and finish at the upmarket Simonsvlei Wine Estate on the R101 near Paarl. The popular routes are unchanged from last year, offering a fairly flat 22 km option for beginners; a 38 km over an undulating course for ladies who are looking for a good challenge without too many hills, and a 53 km which includes the tough climb over Helshoogte to exercise those glutes and stretch yourself a bit. Skilled cycling marshals will be en route on the morning to provide mechanical and moral support.
The PPA is delighted to introduce BlueBoost as the event’s new title sponsor. Blueberries are known to be miniature powerhouses and are packed with antioxidants, but did you know that they’re also proven to help muscles recover faster after exercise? Be sure to visit the BlueBoost stall at the event for your dose of delicious berries on race day. What about your better half? He is most welcome to come along and chill at the venue where the kids can enjoy the Canal Walk Kids Zone jumping castle and Simonsvlei Play Park, or he can enter the 22 km, provided he has young cyclist or two (u/12) to accompany and watch over them the whole way J
Coffee and light breakfast snacks will be available at the venue before the start. After the event, several food stalls will be on hand to replace energy spent during the ride, while Simonsvlei wines will be available at discounted prices to participants. Great lucky draw prizes include Canal Walk shopping vouchers, blueberry hampers and many more!
