Following a double-podium finish in the Western Cape - finishing second and third at the penultimate round of the SA National Rally Championship, the Volkswagen Sasolracing Rally Team are primed for another high octane performance when the national rally field tackles the Polokwane Motor Rally on Friday and Saturday, October 16 and 17.

"Gugu Zulu and Hilton Auffray made their best podium appearance together, finishing second overall at the previous event," says Mike Rowe, head of Volkswagen Motorsport. "Hergen Fekken and Pierre Arries were third overall making sure two of the Volkswagen Sasolracing Polo S2000s were amongst the top finishers at that round."

The final rally of the season presents the last opportunity this year for the team to claim further successes - and Gugu Zulu is on track to finish third overall for the year.

"Another good finish from Gugu this season and he'll claim a top-three position for the year," says Rowe. "We're also expecting another good performance from Henk Lategan and Barry White at this final event. The pair were on pace in the Western Cape, producing excellent stage times and right up with the frontrunners. They are fully capable of delivering their best result of 2015 at this final round."

The Volkswagen Sasolracing Rally Team has appeared on the podium six times in the seven rounds that have already been completed this year - with Zulu appearing on the podium three times, first with Fekken at his side and then with Auffray in the navigator's seat on two occasions.

The Polokwane Motor Rally will see the Volkswagen Sasolracing team contest 10 stages over 130km of competition on gravel, starting from the Peter Mokaba Stadium, which will test the skills of the national rally field as they battle it out to see who will dominate at the final round of the season.

The Volkswagen Sasolracing Rally Team will be determined to finish their year on a high note, again pushing to be amongst the rally leaders, working for stage victories and overall domination of the event.
