The Hot Heels Africa event has been running since 2003 and is one of the longest running downhill skateboarding events in the world. This years’ event takes place from 11-14 December 2014 and is not to be missed. Speed freaks from around the globe will gather in the Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve near Pringle Bay for a weekend of action-packed gravity racing. Aside from the international participation, our country’s own will also be on the hill to battle it out for one of the coveted podium positions.

The race is a World Cup event and the final leg of a world championship as sanctioned by the International Downhill Federation (IDF) and is also the final leg of the South African Gravity Racing
Association’s (SAGRA) league of racing. Gravity racers will be battling it out for final points on the international league as well as the South African Champion title. The categories include Downhill
Skateboarding (u/14, u/19, Open and Ladies), Street Luge and Classic Luge.

SAGRA invite all those young at heart to come and join these adrenaline junkies for a weekend of thrills or savour a day out in nature with friends and family at this one of a kind event.
The Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve is an UNESCO-registered reserve and is home to 1880 plant species, 77 of which are endemic to this biosphere. Relax and enjoy the view of the Buffelsrivier
Dam and the epic mountains, take pictures and support the food stalls that will be available.

Secure parking will be available outside the reserve and spectator shuttles will move spectators up and down the hill.
